Amy Aoki
LCSW
Amy is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with eight years of experience working with youth and their families in Hawaii. She grew up in Honolulu and received her Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Amy’s primary focus has been working with children, adolescents, and their family in community-based treatment and acute psychiatric care to address adjustment challenges, family stressors, depression, anxiety, and trauma. Amy utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy to help clients harness their strengths, regain hope, and actively pursue change strategies when they are ready. She believes that an informal yet goal-directed approach that incorporates empathy, well-timed humor, and trusting that everyone is doing the best they can with what they’ve got, are key ingredients to building a solid therapeutic relationship. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, baking, traveling to eat good food, and relaxing with her Pomeranian fur-child.
