At Wellness Partners Mental Health, we are dedicated to offering comprehensive and supportive services for individuals facing mental health disorders, substance use disorders, or co-occurring conditions. Our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) provide structured therapeutic support tailored to the needs of adults who require intensive care but do not need 24-hour supervision.

Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) Description

A Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) is an intensive, structured mental health and substance use treatment program that offers a higher level of care than traditional outpatient therapy but is less intensive than inpatient hospitalization. PHP is designed for individuals who require significant support but do not need 24-hour supervision.

Population Served
We proudly serve a diverse population, including individuals from various cultural, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Our program is inclusive and welcoming to all individuals, including members of the LGBTQ+ community. Our PHP program is designed for individuals aged 18 and older.

Setting
​​Our PHP services are provided in person within a serene and therapeutic environment in Hawaii Kai, ensuring a peaceful setting conducive to healing and recovery.

Hours, Days & Frequency of Service
The PHP program operates Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, offering both morning and afternoon sessions, each lasting 4 hours.

Payers and Funding Sources
We currently accept commercial insurance plans, including HMSA/BCBS PPO & HMO and HMAA. We also accept the Veteran's Affairs Community Care Network Plan (VA CCN) and soon Tricare West Region (9/1/2025). Please note that additional fees, such as co-pays, coinsurance and taxes, may apply. If your insurance is not accepted and you need assistance with prior authorization details, or if you need information about private pay options, please contact our front desk.

Referral Sources
We accept referrals from a wide range of sources, including primary care physicians, psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, hospitals, schools, employers, employee assistance programs (EAP), and self-referrals. While a referral from a healthcare provider is recommended, it is not required.

Services Offered
We provide direct services through a holistic approach that integrates group, individual, and family therapy, all grounded in evidence-based practices. Our program also includes education on wellness, recovery, and resiliency; psychoeducation; skill-building activities; relapse prevention planning; transition/discharge planning; and ongoing support services. We encourage family involvement when appropriate and offer referrals for additional services, such as medication management, to ensure each individual receives comprehensive, coordinated care.

We serve clients across the island of Oʻahu, with our program facility located in Hawaii Kai.

Communication technologies include Zoom, interactive web-based journals and patient portal, Apple iPads, email, text messaging through Klara, and phone calls.

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) Description
​
An Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is a structured treatment program designed for individuals who require more support than traditional outpatient therapy but do not need the intensive care of an inpatient or partial hospitalization program. IOP typically involves multiple therapy sessions per week, focusing on mental health or substance use disorders, and allows clients to maintain their daily routines and responsibilities, such as work or school.

We proudly serve a diverse population, including individuals from various cultural, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Our program is inclusive and welcoming to all individuals, including members of the LGBTQ+ community. Our IOP program is designed for individuals aged 18 and older.

Setting
​For convenience and accessibility, our IOP services are delivered online via Zoom, allowing clients to engage in therapy from the comfort of their own homes across the state of Hawaii.

The IOP program operates Tuesday through Thursday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, offering both morning and afternoon sessions, each lasting 3.5 hours.

Wellness Partners Hawaii, Inc. and Wellness Partners Hawaii PHP and IOP, LLC, collectively doing business as Wellness Partners Mental Health, are related entities under common ownership/management. While these organizations operate independently, they may share resources such as staff, facilities, and administrative support.
Referral decisions between these entities are made solely on the basis of clinical appropriateness and the needs of the individual being served. Clients are under no obligation to use services provided by either related entity and have the right to seek services from any qualified provider of their choice.
